Last month, we welcomed to our factory the Governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior, accompanied by the mayors of Curitiba, Eduardo Pimentel, and Almirante Tamandaré, Daniel Lovato. More than just an institutional visit, the meeting was an important recognition: engineered wood is part of the future of civil construction, and Paraná is poised to lead this movement.
During the visit, government representatives could see firsthand how engineered wood is produced in our factory: with state-of-the-art technology, millimeter precision, and, of course, respect for nature at every stage of the process. It’s an industrial model that combines innovation with regeneration.
A MILESTONE FOR ADVANCING SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION
Public support is essential for scaling sustainable technologies. By visiting our operation, the government reinforces its interest in solutions that combine economic development, job creation, and environmental responsibility.
Furthermore, the governor highlighted the intention to expand the use of engineered wood in public works in Paraná, such as schools, event centers, and the new planetarium at the Science Park. This decision helps break paradigms and encourages the use of cleaner, renewable, and more efficient materials.
A STATE THAT INSPIRES
Paraná is already a national reference in silviculture and reforestation wood production. According to IBGE, the state accounts for about 25% of the country’s firewood production and 38% of roundwood for various purposes.
With consistent policies on preservation, reforestation, and emissions reduction, the state stands out in sustainability, with international recognition for its leadership.
It’s the only Brazilian state analyzed by the OECD in a study on sustainable development, alongside eight other regions worldwide. The organization highlighted Paraná as a reference in four areas: renewable energy, air quality, water preservation, and coastal protection.
THE STRENGTH OF PLANTED FORESTS
Our production model is 100% based on planted pine forests, a renewable resource that is traceable and has enormous environmental potential.
The engineered wood we produce here is already present in projects across Brazil and is beginning to gain ground in the international market. Seeing this material recognized nationally as a symbol of technology is a clear sign to us that we are on the right path.
We continue to advance towards the level of recognition it has already achieved abroad, reaffirming an important conviction: true development only occurs when care for the planet is at the heart of the strategy.
BUILDING RESPONSIBLY DRIVES US
We remain steadfast in our mission to transform the way we build, with lower carbon emissions, less waste, and more innovation. With the support of public and private partners, we aim to take engineered wood even further. And to show that yes, the future is built with wood.
Because the cities of the future arise from the choices we make today.
