Sesc Paraty

Sesc Caborê, located in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro, is one of the most innovative mass timber projects in Brazil. Designed by Índio da Costa Arquitetura, the cultural complex brings together architecture, nature, and technology through a complex timber structure that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding Atlantic Forest landscape.

Urbem contributes to the project as the supplier of the mass timber structure (glulam), providing the industrial manufacturing capabilities required to deliver highly complex structural solutions. In partnership with ITA Engenharia em Madeira, the project demonstrates how advanced engineering, industrialized construction, and mass timber can expand the possibilities of large-scale timber buildings in Brazil.
