Inaugurated in 2025 in the southern zone of São Paulo, Parque Morumbi Sul is the city’s first public facility to feature a mass timber structural system. Urbem played a key role in this transformation, which brought together contemporary architectural solutions, integration with the surrounding landscape, and public investment.
With approximately 84,000 m² of requalified area, the park now includes structures such as a multipurpose pavilion, elevated walkways, gatehouses, outdoor fitness areas, sports courts, and a playground—all fully accessible and designed to ensure comfort and safety for the community. The use of glulam (glued laminated timber) in the entrances, kiosks, and administrative pavilion added lightness, structural efficiency, and sustainability to the project.MLC (madeira Lamelada Colada) nas portarias, quiosques e pavilhão administrativo trouxe leveza, eficiência e sustentabilidade ao projeto.
This initiative highlights the role of mass timber in shaping more human-centered and environmentally responsible urban spaces, delivering lower environmental impact while strengthening the connection between architecture and nature.
